  1. What the Deuce?

    June 23, 2010 by Asim

I’m officially no longer a student. Huzzah!

I’m just unemployed, less huzzah, the job hunt is going slowly, but I shouldn’t really be concentrating on only software engineering jobs, I have plenty of other talents like the ability to clean and tap dance.

  2. Gibberish

Airports = fail, I feel like i’m stuck in a giant hospitals waiting room for my rectal exam. Although I usually score quite highly. That said, i’m so flipping bored, I need to find something to do.

Anyway, I’ve always felt that irritation is the default feeling of men, travelling seems to bring the worst out in me.

Point in case, a person in front of me who was unable to find their stuff for check in, for fuck sake, you’ve been in line for a good 15 minutes, have your fucking passport and tickets ready…

Business men, who talk loudly about the accounts in Berlin, we all know that you’re not talking to anyone.  Why wear a suit when travelling? When I had to wear a suit for work and travelled about in planes, I never rarely wore my suit, I carried my suit bag, saves things from being creased and you looking like a dishevelled man when you finally get to where you were going.

Travel in comfort not a tie, although that said, the times I’ve worn a suit to fly, I’ve never been stopped at the airport for extra questioning, there could be a link here? who knows.

Personal music equipment, its personal for a reason, turn down the volume. Now I use mine for my various audio books, while reading other books (its a difficult talent master, there are countless occasions where i’ve mixed up storylines) I don’t need to hear the latest x-factor/Britain got narcissists winner over my audio book.

Its now time for me to finally to board my plane, huzzah!

  3. Take the Mic Part deux

Well, I made it into the regional finals, very shocked to be there. With over 100 entries, I’m one of the final 8, quite surreal really. I’m on the bill with some big names relatively speaking, i’m on with -the ones that I know and have seen perform- The wee man, Davey See, Chris Henry, Paul Collins and Mike Adams.  The other 2 who I’ve never heard of before, being Ross Craig and Tommy Tucker, certain these guys will be pretty good as well.

Stiff competition doubtful i’ll win it, but it should be a good night I hope, Wednesday the 9th at tiger tiger in Glasgow.

  4. Fist in the Air.

So for the first time in a long long time I went to a protest.  In the old days I used to go left right and centre, everything from the anti apartheid in the early 90′s to anti war to anti nuclear weapons. I was there from pretty much the age of 5 onwards.

In past years especially after 2003, I had pretty much given up on the idea of protests seeing nothing rarely if ever changes.

Went to one yesterday, over the Israeli raid of a passenger ship filled with volunteers and supplies, now usually I’d not go to these types of things mostly cos I personally feel next to nothing ever changes.  This time things were slightly different. One of my oldest friends Hassan Ghani was on the boat that was attacked. Hassan, is a journalist, an award winning journalist at that, I quote his ribbing of me on twitter every now and then, we think, and hope he’s ok.  Hassan is only a year older than me, and he’s done an awful lot more than I have,  goes to show how having a focused mind can get you places. Hope the toss pot is aright, otherwise who else will I have to discuss technology with? =(

On the issue itself, I personally feel that Israel has a right to exist, so does Palestine, they just people need to stop being such cunts to each other.
