  2. The Leaders Debate

    April 16, 2010 by Asim

Half the British blog-o-sphere (it sickens me I used that non word) is talking about the leaders debate. The shock winner of the debate was Nick Clegg aka my former party leader. That’s right I used to support the Lib Dems, this is until he took over.
    Step Outside Posh boy
I’ve always been a bit wishy washy when it comes to politics so the Lib Dems were perfect. But, Nick Clegg irritates me, I trust him about as far as I could throw him, but from the debate, he seems like he was able to capitalise by not talking as much crap as the other 2 did. But it was nice seeing Cameron come last in most of the polls hopefully he’ll be less smug.  But its doubtful eton bullingdon club boy will. Especially after the sky news poll put him in as second instead of third.
edit: Now it appears a yougov poll is saying the same thing? Shock horror!

The question is will this actually affect the way people vote? When we vote in a general election we vote for the local candidate NOT the party leader we aren’t voting for a president so I’m confused if this debate actually makes any sense.

  3. Bring Back Robot Wars

    April 10, 2010 by Asim

Bring back Robot wars, I loved watching that show. It was either Robot wars or the Crystal Maze that I always dreamed of appearing on.

The Coolest Robot ever In Robot WarsNow seriously there is no good quiz programming on TV these days. Its all crap like proper crap, I think the idea that the current lot of TV producers have these days is “get a tv star from the past, and make them do quiz shows”. We’ve got Noel Edmunds doing Deal or No deal and Are you smarter than a 10 year old. Jasper Carrot doing goldenballs (its a game show involving golden balls) and a whole load of other crap on TV.
Bring back the classics, Robot Wars or better yet the Crystal Maze. I’d settle for catchphrase, or something better than this current lot of TV Fail.

  5. The Curse of TV

    April 5, 2010 by Asim

Well, we got Sky TV put in for the first time ever a few weeks ago, and I can’t fathom why people are paying money above and beyond the licence fee for Sky or Cable is beyond me.

We’re getting lord knows how many hundreds of channels we get but; most are dire and just full of repeats. Ok I’ll admit to one thing I like all the science fiction i’m getting on tv. No longer am I only able to watch the 3 hours of Star Trek on Virgin one, but we got stargate on Sky 1 and Dr Who on living, babylon 5 on FX and so on, its a geeks wildest dream.

Its just I find myself spending more and more of my free time watching tv and not actually getting any work done. This is bad news.
